Matters of the Heart
Marriage & Relationships Matters of the Heart

The role of a mom has evolved to so much more than we sometimes feel we can handle. Many times we take so much for granted. After having children, one of the first things I find easy to take for granted is my husband. I’m sure many of you feel that your husband does the same to you.  If you can relate, here are a few exercises you and your spouse can talk about to help you reconnect. I know it’s hard to find time to do this but try to allocate 45 minutes to one hour for just the two of you to:

  • Make a list of the top 10 reasons you love your partner (if you want to write more you can)

  • Find items you have each saved from the past and talk about why they are special to you

  • Make a list of the things you found yourself happiest doing together and commit to doing them more often

  • Fill the bathtub with jasmine or rosemary scented bath oils, scented candles and romantic music.  Take a bath together
  • Make a scrap book of your favorite moments together. Keep it in a place where it will be easy to find and go thru it from time to time
  • Make a list together of 10 things you both would love to do and begin doing them
