I just posted this as a personal message to a mom who asked how to find legitimate WAH Opportunities. After sending it, I thought perhaps others would appreciate the information as well...

A good idea is to meet successful WAHMs and see what they do! Here are the sites full of WHAMs that I'm in:

Also, a good rule of thumb is to stick to companies that belong to the Direct Sales Association (DSA). The DSA is a membership-by-invitation-only organization that oversees direct sales/network marketing in the US. To become a member, a company must undergo over a years' worth of intense scrutiny into business practices and ethical behavior. There are only about 250 companies that made it into the DSA of the 3,000-5,000 network marketing/direct sales companies in the US at any given time (the number varies because so many don't last more than three to five years).

Now if you don't have an entrepreneurial spirit, there are a few work-from-home-as-an-employee jobs that I know of. A list can be found here: http://clarkhoward.com/topics/workathome_help.html Clark Howard, if you aren't familiar with him, is a consumer advocate that has a radio talk show. None of the advice I've followed from him has ever been bad. In particular regarding the list, Alpine Access I DO have familiarity with. I applied with the company and was offered employment, but ultimately decided to pursue the home-based-business I'm currently involved with instead (and LOVE btw) because the earnings potential and flexibility was much greater in my own business.

This should give you a really great start on finding the right work-at-home opportunity for yourself and your family. I hope, anyway! ANYONE, please, feel free to contact me if I can be helpful in any other way. I just love helping other moms live the lives they want for their families and themselves!
